Bio
Reanna has been practicing yoga since 1999 and began teaching in 2005. She has studied extensively with Sarahjoy Marsh in Portland, Oregon where she received her teacher training certification as an Anusara® Inspired Instructor. She has also practiced and studied with many wonderful and inspiring teachers such as: Max Strom (Author of “A Life Worth Breathing”), Katerina Wen (The Yogi Way), Djuna Mascall (Prajna Yoga) and Iris Lambert (Irie Yoga). She integrates the multitude of styles, flow, principles and disciplines of yoga, breath work and somatics she has explored (and continues to explore) into her unique flavor of grounded, creative play filtered through the ancient practice of yoga.
Reanna also has a degree from the University of Puget Sound, and professional background, in creative writing, and uses her yoga instruction as a modern day oral narrative in action. Weaving potent themes of nature, beauty, strength, surrender, acceptance, etc. into the tangible realm of experience in each class.
Much of Reanna's inspiration and information is born from observations and experiences in nature as well as through a personal study of healing in her own body. She has worked with challenges of rheumatoid arthritis as well as the physical and mental trauma of cancer in her teenage years. She chose not to follow the path of standard prescription medicines and has not suffered the discomforts of rheumatoid arthritis for eleven years now. With blood work to back it up, she no longer exhibits evidence of this “incurable” disease. She attributes a majority of the healing, awareness and her personal path and perspective to the physical, mental, philosophical and energetic studies within the practice of yoga.
